Georgia (5 days/ 4 nights)

 

Day 1 Tuesday/Saturday

  • Arrival in Tbilisi.
  • Transfer from airport to hotel and accommodation.
  • Free evening.

 

Day2. Wednesday/Sunday

  • Breakfast.
  • Visiting the sites of Tbilisi which include Cathedral Sameba, Metehi Cathedral. Bridge of Peace. On the left bank of the bridge is located the temple Zion, which we also visit.
  • Visiting district of sulfur baths “Abanotubani.”
  • Later we go up on the lift and ride through the old town to fortress “Narikala.”
  • Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

Day 3. Thursday/Monday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Today tour to Mtskheta, Gori and Ufliscixe. Full day tour.
  • “Mtskheta” (Second Jerusalem) – the oldest city, which was the royal table. There are many old churches. The Cathedral “Svetitskhoveli» (XI c), is a sacred place for every Orthodox Christian. In this cathedral is kept the coat of Jesus Christ in which he was crucified. Visit the Monastery Samtavro, here lays king Mirjan and Princess Nana, who were the first who recognized Christianity in Georgia, here still lives blackberry bush since the Holy Nana.
  • Climb to the monastery Jvari (5th century), a panoramic view of the ancient capital (there is church of the same name in Jerusalem). According to legend, this temple was erected over the exuded fragrant oil (myrrh) stump of the cedar, under this cedar St.Nino was praying. Mtskheta is famous for its great restaurants and chic choice for every taste.
  • Uplistsikhe – is an amazing city, founded BC. This ancient city-fortress, a great work was done to create a city from a rock.
  • Gori is a city that was built by King David the Builder in 1089-1125. Visit the museum of Stalin.
  • Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

Day 4. Friday/Tuesday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • On the way to the fortress and monastery Ananuri. We will also see the most famous ski resort of Georgia – Gudauri.
  • Moving to Stepatsminda.
  • Arrival in Kazbegi. Kazbegi Tour.
  • Optional visit to Gergety Trinity Church. Cars will take you to the ancient temple – on the high mountains.
  • Back to Tbilisi.
  • Free time.
  • Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 5.  Saturday/ Wednesday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Free time.
  • Our Armenian partners will take care of the transfer to Armenia.
  • Completion of service.

Day 1.  Saturday/Thursday

 

Tbilisi-Dilijan-Haghartsin Monastery-Lake Sevan

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking-out
  • Leaving Georgia for Armenia
  • Driving to Tavush Province and visiting Dilijan (spa town known as Switzerland of Armenia)
  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Visiting Haghartsin (13th cen.)
  • Driving to Gegharkunik Province
  • Visiting Sevanavanq Monastery (9th cen.) located on the peninsula.
  • Driving to hotel.
  • Free time
  • Dinner
  • Overnight at hotel

 

Day 2.  Sunday/Friday

Lake Sevan-Selim Pass- Noravank-Qarahunj-Goris

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking out
  • Driving to Selim Pass
  • Visiting Selim Pass 2410 m. The Selim Pass Caravanserai is a valuable example of overnight spots for caravans laden with goods  along the Armenian Silk Road.
  • Moving on to  Vayots Dzor province and visiting  Noravank monastery (13th c). A unique monastic complex among red cliffs
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Driving to Syunik province and visiting  Armenian Stonehenge called Qarahunj or Zorats Karer ( Almighty Stones)  dating back to 7500BC. This makes the Mighty Stones Armenian archeological site 3500 years older than the Stonehenge and 3000 years older than the Egyptian pyramids.
  • Moving to Goris and checking in at hotel
  • Free time
  • Dinner
  • Overnight at hotel

 

Day 3, Monday /Saturday

Goris-Tatev- Khor Virap-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking out
  • Driving to Halidzor
  • Taking a round trip on the Wings of Tatev ropeway (longest reversible aerial tramway in the world built in one section only)
  • Visiting Tatev monastery (9th cen. UNESCO World Heritage site)
  • Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Driving to Ararat province and visiting Khor Virap Monastery (7-17th) From here you can enjoy the best view of the biblical Mount Ararat (5165m) upon which Noah’s Ark landed after the flood.
  • Back to Yerevan
  • Checking in at hotel
  • Rest
  • Dinner at local restaurant
  • Overnight at hotel

 

Day 4 Tuesday/Sunday

 Yerevan-Garni-Geghard- Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Driving to Kotayk Province and visiting Geghard monastic complex (4-13th cc. UNESCO World Heritage Site) which is named after Holy Lance which pierced the side of Christ. Now the Holy Lance is displayed in the Echmiadzin Cathedral Museum
  • On the way to Garni temple (1st cen. AD) dedicated to Mihr – the god of the Sun. Garni temple is the only preserved pagan temple in the  whole Caucasus
  • Back to Yerevan
  • Visiting “Noy” Brandy Factory, degustation of Winston Churchill’s most preferred, worldwide famous Armenian brandy (open from Mon-Fri)
  • Back to hotel
  • Rest

  • Overnight

 

Day 5. Wednesday/Monday

Yerevan-Echmiadzin-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • On the way to Holy Echmiadzin – the Armenian Vatican
  • Visiting Saint Hripsime Church (7th c. UNESCO World Heritage site) dedicated to the martyred virgin Saint Hripsime, Saint Gayane church (7th c. UNESCO World Heritage Site) dedicated to the abbess Gayane who was martyred with other nuns by Tiridates III of Armenia in the year 301. Mother Cathedral (4th century- the first Christian Church in the world).The Museum of Mother Cathedral houses worldwide famous relics including the Holy Lance, the relics of Noah’s Ark, relics of the Apostles, Sts. Thaddeus, Bartholomew and Andrew , St. George and many others.
  • Back to Yerevan
  • Lunch at local restaurant
