Day 1 Arrival in Yerevan

  • Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport

Day 2 Yerevan –Echmiadzin-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • On the way to Holy Echmiadzin – the Armenian Vatican
  • Visiting Saint Hripsime Church (7th c. UNESCO World Heritage site) dedicated to the martyred virgin Saint Hripsime , Mother Cathedral (4th century- the first Christian Church in the world).The Museum of Mother Cathedral houses worldwide famous relics including the Holy Lance, the relics of Noah’s Ark, relics of the Apostles, Sts. Thaddeus, Bartholomew and Andrew, St. George and many others. Saint Gayane church (7th c. UNESCO World Heritage Site) dedicated to the abbess Gayane who was martyred with other nuns by Tiridates III of Armenia in the year 301.

  • Visiting “Noy” Brandy Factory, degustation of Winston Churchill’s most favourite, worldwide famous Armenian brandy .

  • Yerevan City Tour (Cascade, Cafesjian Art Centre, Opera House, Republic Square)
  • Overnight at hotel

 

Day 3 Yerevan-Haghpat-Sanahin-Dilijan

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Driving to Lori Province and visiting Haghpat monastery (10th c. UNESCO World Heritage site)
  • Lunch in local restaurant
  • Moving to Sanahin monastery (10th c. UNESCO World Heritage site)
  • Driving to Tavush Province
  • Check-in at the hotel of Dilijan (spa town)
  • Dinner at hotel
  • Overnight

 

Day 4 Haghartsin-Lake Parz-Lake Sevan

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking out
  • Driving to Haghartsin Monastery (13th cen.)
  • Visiting Lake Parz (Clear Lake). It is a small lake located in a thick forest in the Dilijan National Park east of Dilijan town.
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Driving to Lake Sevan – the largest alpine high mountain freshwater lake in the Caucasus region and in Armenian Highland.
  •  Checking in at the hotel
  • Visiting Sevanavank monastery (9th cen.) located on the peninsula
  • Dinner
  • Rest
  • Overnight

 

Day 5  Lake Sevan-Selim Pass- Noravank-Karahunj-Goris

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking out
  • Driving to Selim Pass
  • Selim Pass 2410 m. The Selim Pass Caravanserai is a valuable example of overnight spots for caravans laden with goods along the Armenian Silk Road.
  • Moving to Vayots Dzor province and visiting Noravank monastery (13th c). A unique monastic complex among red cliffs
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Driving to Syunik province and visiting Armenian Stonehenge called Karahunj or Zorats Karer ( Almighty Stones)  dating back to 7500BC. This makes the Mighty Stones Armenian archeological site 3500 years older than the Stonehenge and 3000 years older than the Egyptian pyramids.
  • Moving to Goris and checking in at hotel
  • Dinner
  • Overnight

 

   Day 6  Tatev- Khor Virap-Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel and checking out
  • Taking a round trip on the Wings of Tatev ropeway (longest reversibleaerial tramway  in the world built in one section only)
  • Visiting Tatev monastery (9th cen. UNESCO World Heritage site)
  • Lunch at the restaurant
  • Driving to Ararat province and visiting Khor Virap Monastery (7-17th) From here you can enjoy the best view of the biblical Mount Ararat (5165m) upon which Noah’s Ark landed after the flood.
  • Back to Yerevan
  • Checking in at hotel
  • Rest
  • Dinner at local restaurant
  • Overnight at hotel

 

    Day 7 Yerevan-Garni-Geghard- Yerevan

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Driving to Kotayk Province and visiting Geghard monastic complex (4-13th cc. UNESCO World Heritage Site) which is named after Holy Lance which pierced the side of Christ. Now the Holy Lance is displayed in the Echmiadzin Cathedral Museum
  • On the way to Garni temple (1st cen. AD) dedicated to Mihr – the god of the Sun. Garni temple is the only preserved pagan temple in the  whole Caucasus
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Back to Yerevan
  • Rest
  • Visiting Vernissage – outdoor handcrafts market . Here you can obtain souvenirs
  • Dinner
  • Back to hotel
  • Overnight

 

 Day 8 Departure

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Checking out
  • Transfer to Zvartnots International airport
